Study – Carbon emissions benefitting vegetation worldwide

In a challenge to the narrative of climate alarmism, a recent study published in the Global Ecology and Conservation journal reports that carbon emissions are contributing to a significant global greening trend. 

The Chinese study found that global greening accelerated in more than half of the world, particularly in India and the European plains, since 2000. Browning trends occurred in only about 7% of areas. 

Carbon dioxide (CO2) was identified as the primary driver of the greening trend. The study suggests that CO2 fertilisation, along with climate change, is promoting vegetation growth, even in regions facing drought.

Increased greening has environmental and economic benefits associated with increased atmospheric CO2 levels, such as expanded arable land and higher crop yields.
