Reporter Avi Yemeni returns to NZ with book tour, after immigration ban lifts

summarised by The Centrist

Eli Rubashkyn, a transgender activist, has threatened similar action against Rebel News reporter Avi Yemini, ahead of Yemeni’s official book launch tour in New Zealand.

Rubashkyn, who identifies as gender-nonconforming and was born intersex, has been charged with assault for throwing tomato juice at women’s rights advocate Posie Parker  during a violent trans rights protest in Auckland’s Albert Park in March of 2023.

He has since pleaded not guilty to the assault charge, with the case scheduled to return to court in July.

Yemeni was banned from entering New Zealand last year. The ban has since been lifted and Yemeni will be in Wellington to launch his book tour in August.

Yemeni’s book, “A Rebel From The Start,” very quickly became a bestseller after its release last week.
