New poll shows some unexpected support for Treaty Principles Bill from Greens and Te Pāti Māori voters

Although support has dropped from October 2023 after the wording changes, National voters still strongly back David Seymour’s Treaty Principles Bill (58% support, 16% oppose). 

ACT and New Zealand First voters also show strong support, with the latter having the highest support-to-oppose ratio of any party. Meanwhile, Labour support has dropped considerably from just under two thirds to one third support currently. While more Te Pāti Māori voters are opposed, perhaps surprisingly, over a quarter of those who have taken a position now support the bill along with nearly half of decided Green Party voters who were polled.
