COVID subcommittee hears there is no scientific evidence supporting six-feet social distancing

New testimony from a leading health expert confirms that there was no science behind COVID ‘six feet apart’ social distancing rules.

According to reports, former US National Institute of Health (NIH) Director Dr Francis Collins has testified that Anthony Fauci’s pandemic-era six-foot social distancing rule was not based on actual science. 

The revelation comes as the US’ House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has released a transcript where Collins is asked about the six-foot social distancing rule.  

Under oath, Collins told the subcommittee that he never saw evidence supporting the measure.  

The CDC issued guidance supporting the six feet distancing after the COVID outbreak spread in 2020. However, its latest guidance on viral respiratory infection prevention says:

“There is no single number that defines a ’safe’ distance, since spread of viruses can depend on many factors.”
