Brian Gitt: It’s time to honestly examine all the costs and all the benefits of every energy source

Trillions wasted on the “false hope” of wind and solar power.

Energy consultant Brian Gitt, in “Confessions of an environmentalist”, says average families can’t afford pricey energy efficient homes his projects have delivered. He observed that only the very wealthy could take advantage of government subsidies that they didn’t need to make expensive upgrades.

“We weren’t achieving much of anything, except wasting taxpayer money,” he says.

He further notes the Government celebrated his costly and exclusive project as a big win despite not being able to deliver the jobs and energy savings promised.

With only a tiny drop in fossil fuel reliance over the past twenty years, Gitt says his project was a “symptom” of a much bigger problem of trillions of dollars being wasted on the “false hope” of wind and solar power replacing oil and natural gas.

Wind and solar have some serious drawbacks, while oil, gas and nuclear have some clear advantages. “It’s time to honestly examine all the costs and all the benefits of every energy source: wind, solar, oil, natural gas, and nuclear,” he says.

Gitt lays out his five principles to evaluate the best energy options to confront climate change, protect the environment and help people climb out of energy poverty around the world.
