Why have a COVID enquiry? Why not just declare success with a partisan study? 

A government funded study, not surprisingly, applauds  the government’s COVID response. The research seems to be oblivious to the controversy swirling around the COVID response and  the media continues in its compliant support.

The study relies on selected, speculative, modelling but there is other modelling (similarly speculative) they could have chosen. that would result in the opposite conclusion. The study has obvious “social justice” overtones.  Outcomes between vaccinated and unvaccinated were not considered. Nor were vaccine injuries.

One other reason Māori signed the Treaty: Fear of the French

In 1772 the French and Māori fought, with Māori getting the worst of it.

In 1835, Māori chiefs around the Bay of Islands sought British protection to avoid further violence with the French.

This set the groundwork for the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. Modern interpretations of this history differ, but the Treaty was clearly a factor in New Zealand avoiding  colonisation by the French.

NZ Court of Appeal ruling challenges COVID vaccine mandates for public servants

A Court of Appeal ruling struck down the Defence Force COVID vaccine mandate. The ruling may open the gate for compensation for anyone mandated out of work  for COVID vaccine refusal.

The Court rejected “administrative convenience” as a basis for dismissal.

The government must justify infringing on the Bill of Rights Act.
